Project Solaris Trial Bosses and Elite Prep
Survive Day 10 elites, every ~20-day Trial Ceremony, and the Day 100 finale without pacing yourself into a wall.
Project Solaris structures pressure around fixed calendar gates. Day 10 introduces elite fights. Roughly every 20 days — commonly Day 20, 40, 60, and 80 — you face a boss or Trial Ceremony. Day 100 is the final Trial. This guide is the boss-facing companion to 100-Day Strategy: checklists for Trust, QTE readiness, and gear; how to recover when pacing fails; and how to spend the days between ceremonies so the next gate is fair instead of fatal. Pair it with Combat QTE, Trust and Bond, Beginner Builds, and the Day Planner. Card-by-card opportunity cost lives on Daily Cards.
Why Trial pacing fails
Most wipe runs do not lose because a single skill is “wrong.” They lose because the calendar arrived first:
- Trust still gates the hard commands you planned to open with.
- Hom gear was crafted the morning of the fight and does not match skill flavor.
- Fingers are cold after a long Shopkeeping block with zero warm-up Battle.
- Rest was skipped until black gauges became normal.
- Learn unlocked three skills you never yellowed in practice.
Treat every ceremony week as a project with a deadline, not a surprise event.
Day 10 — elite window
Day 10 is the first honesty check. It punishes tutorial autopilot and rewards players who already treat yellow QTE as a habit.
Arrive with:
- Consistent yellow timing on your core Hom skills (Combat QTE).
- Enough Trust / Reliability that your hardest planned skill is not a black factory (Trust and Bond).
- At least one Hom craft that matches the skills you actually click, or a funded Solaris breakpoint if that is your Beginner Builds plan.
- A warm-up Battle in the Day 7–9 window if Days 1–6 were heavy on Shopkeeping or Social.
If you are behind on Day 8–9: prefer Rest or Shopkeeping over a pride Battle that bricks and cascades. A slightly poorer elite that you survive beats a wipe that burns potions, confidence, and the next interval’s budget.
Trial Ceremony cadence — Days 20 / 40 / 60 / 80
Each ~20-day block should complete a mini-project before the gate. Use the Day Planner to pencil the mix; use this page to know what “ready” means on ceremony eve.
Shared pre-Trial checklist (night before)
- QTE: Can you yellow your opener and one mid-fight conversion without panic?
- Trust: Does Reliability support every skill on the planned sequence?
- Gear: Hom flavor matched; Solaris spike purchased if it was the interval’s economy goal (Shopkeeping).
- Fatigue: If recent fights sprayed black, take Rest before the ceremony, not after a wipe.
- Kit discipline: No brand-new Learn skill installed the morning of the Trial.
Day 20 — first full ceremony
Prove the loop: safe open, telegraph reads, greed red only when Trust and fight state allow. Prefer a short, practiced skill list over a museum of untested Learn cards. If Day 10 already strained you, make Days 11–18 an economy-plus-bond interval rather than pure Battle spam.
Day 40 — mid-early spike
By now, weak Trust or mismatched Hom crafts show as patterned misses. Audit: are Social / Development cards underfunded relative to Learn? Fix bond before stacking harder QTEs. Re-read Daily Cards if you keep picking Battle when money or Trust is the real lowest resource.
Day 60 — specialization pressure
Intervals get less forgiving of random crafts and experimental kits. Lock a ceremony sequence. Warm up the day before. Treat Shopkeeping as lead-time work in the first half of the block so gear exists for ceremony week.
Day 80 — late rehearsal for Day 100
Play Day 80 like a dress rehearsal for the finale. Note which turns you greed, which telegraphs you misread, and whether Rest debt is accumulating. Ending-facing milestones still matter (Endings), but a failed ceremony can erase the story progress you were protecting.
Day 100 — final Trial prep
Everything converges: mechanical skill, bond, economy, and any branch flags you have been seeding. Final-week rules:
- Stabilize, do not reinvent. Days 96–99 are for warm-up, Rest if needed, and confirming Trust — not for a new craft philosophy.
- Warm hands. If the late calendar was shop- or story-heavy, schedule a practice Battle before the finale.
- Respect black as veto. If a Trust-gated red still bricks in warm-ups, demote it from the plan.
- Story without suicide. Social for endings is valid across the run; the final two days are usually execution, not brand-new cast experiments. Cast context: Supporting Cast.
Trust / QTE / gear checklist (printable mental model)
| Gate | Trust | QTE focus | Gear focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Day 10 elites | Mid floor | Yellow consistency | Hom flavor match |
| Day 20 / 40 | Rising with Learn | Safe open + one red | Fund first Solaris spike |
| Day 60 / 80 | Supports planned hard skills | Telegraph discipline | Stop morning-of crafts |
| Day 100 | No last-minute bond debt | Full sequence rehearsal | Locked loadout |
Recovering from pacing failures
Wiped or barely crawled through a ceremony: next interval opens with Rest or a low-stakes Battle to restore click quality, then Shopkeeping or Social depending on which resource bar is empty. Do not immediately Learn three new skills as emotional compensation.
Arrived broke: you needed Shopkeeping earlier in the previous interval. Emergency shop days help cash, but crafted gear needs lead time — see Shopkeeping.
Arrived rich and missing everything: Trust and practice debt. Prefer Social / Development and yellow-only Battles until hard skills feel fair again (Trust and Bond).
Achievement hunters: ceremony survival still comes first. Badge planning belongs on Achievements after you can clear gates on schedule.
Linking builds and calendar tools
Safe archetypes that protect Trial weeks live on Beginner Builds. Interval ratios and card math belong on 100-Day Strategy and the Day Planner. Execution drills stay on Combat QTE — this page intentionally skips a duplicate video embed so combat media stays on that guide.

Mark the gates on your calendar. Fund Trust and gear before the week starts. Warm up. Play the plan. That is how Trial Ceremonies stop feeling like ambushes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Project Solaris players.
When are Trial bosses in Project Solaris?
Expect elite pressure around Day 10, a boss or Trial Ceremony about every 20 days (commonly Days 20, 40, 60, and 80), and the final Trial on Day 100.
What should I check the night before a Trial Ceremony?
Confirm yellow QTE consistency, Trust high enough for your planned hard skills, Hom gear matched to those skills, any Solaris spike already bought, and Rest if recent fights were full of misses.
How do I fix a run that keeps failing ceremonies?
Identify the empty resource — Trust, money, practice, or stamina — then spend the next interval repairing that bar instead of only Battling. Use 100-Day Strategy and Daily Cards for pick priority.
Should I Learn a new skill on Trial day?
No. Install and practice skills earlier in the interval. Ceremony day is for a rehearsed sequence, not experiments.
Where do beginner loadouts fit?
Use Beginner Builds for safe archetypes that protect Trial weeks, the Day Planner for ratios, and Combat QTE for click execution.
Does this page embed a YouTube video?
No. Combat footage stays on the Combat QTE guide so this page focuses on calendar gates, checklists, and pacing recovery.
